Anfy Weather Tutorial

For this tutorial you will need to download Anfy if you don't already have it. Click here to download Anfy. You will also need an image to use. If you don't have one, you may use mine.

Maverick Manor

Before we start, make a new folder and name it Weather applet. Save the image you are going to use to this file. I make a separate folder for each applet I do to make it easier to find the files I need to upload to my site. Making the new folder saves time in searching for the files you need to upload.

This applet would be good with an image such as my house pictured above, a country landscape, picture of an old castle, or maybe even a graphic of a haunted house you have made. There are lots of possibilities for it.

Open Anfy. This is the first screen we see.
Weather screen one
Under category click on Image Effects and then click on the drop down on the right hand side and find "Weather". Click next.

Here is the second screen we see.
Weather screen two
Click on the button next to "back image" and browse to the folder where you saved your image. Double click on your image to have it show in the back image box. Put a check mark in enable scrolltext, fog, rain, and lightning. The boom.au should show automatically. Click next.

Here is the third screen that comes up.
Weather screen three
By clicking on the down arrow by scroll text you can choose how you want your text to go. Under font you can choose which font to use, size, color, etc. Type your text in the text box. You can go to the preview button at the bottom of the screen and see what you have. If you don't like the way your text looks, just close the preview and make any changes you want before continuing. Click next.

Here is the fourth screen.
Weather screen four
We don't need to change anything on this screen so just click next.

Here is the fifth screen.
Weather screen five
We don't need to do anything on this screen either so just click next.

Here is the sixth and last screen.
Weather screen six
Click on copy all files. You will get a screen that will come up and ask where you want to save it. Browse to the file you created and saved your image into and save it in that file. I named mine "storm". You can name yours whatever you want. You should now have everything you need to upload in your Weather applet file.

Here are the files you will need to upload to your site to make this applet work.
storm.html
weather.class
lware.class
anfy.class
weather.jar
ajbut1.gif
weatherscr (this contains the text for your applet)
boom.au (this is the sound for the applet)

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did writing it. Click on the link below to see the applet.
